Ogden Matthias Edwards (1869-1940)
Dr Ogden M. Edwards, Jr., of Walnut Hall Farm, Kentucky
He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Princeton University (1893) and the College of Physicians & Surgeons, New York (1896). He was a Professor of Medicine. In 1898, he married oil heiress Lela Harkness and after his father-in-law died in 1915 they took over Walnut Hall Farm in Kentucky, breeding trotters. For the next 25-years, Edwards worked to improve its stock by selecting top mares and sires. He died in Pittsburgh, survived by his wife and their three children.
