Nehemiah Rogers (1718-1760)

Nehemiah Rogers, of Fairfield, Connecticut

He was the father of Moses Rogers who lived at the historic 7 State Street house in Manhattan; and, the father-in-law of Archibald Gracie, who built the Gracie Mansion. Three of his sons (Fitch, Henry and Nehemiah) fought as Loyalists and were among the founders of Saint John in New Brunswick.
