Maud (Gasque) Robinson (1909-1989)

"Maysie" Maud Meacham (Gasque) Robinson, Lady Martonmere

She was given away at the altar by her uncle, Hubert Templeton Parson, of Shadow Lawn for whose wife she was named. Her wedding in 1930 at St, Margaret's Church in Westminster was attended by a thousand guests and the reception was held at her mother's home, The Elms, on Spaniards Road in Hampstead - a rambling red brick Jacobean-style mansion that still stands today. Her maid-of-honour was Princess Mariza Chavchavad Ze. For their honeymoon, the Robinsons toured Europe in a Rolls-Royce Phantom given to her parents by Frank Woolworth that was famously decked out inside to resemble a Louis XVI Drawing Room. Their only daughter, Loretta, married the Canadian media mogul, Ted Rogers
