Clarence Warren Gasque (1874-1928)
Chief Financial Officer, of Woolworth & Co., of "The Elms" Hampstead, London
He was Chief Financial Officer to F.W. Woolworth & Co., at London, England. He moved his young family from New York to London to help his sister's husband, (Hubert Templeton Parson of Shadow Lawn) establish the business in England. He married Maud, daughter of Harmon Everett Meacham, and their only daughter, Lady Maysie Martonmere, was the wife of John Roland Robinson, 1st Baron Martonmere. They lived at The Elms on Spaniards Road in Hampstead that had been the home (from 1894 to 1908) of the art dealer Sir Joseph Duveen, father of the better known Lord Duveen. Frank Woolworth famously gifted them a Rolls-Royce Phantom decorated inside as a Louis XVI Drawing Room in which their daughter toured Europe for her honeymoon in 1930.
