Lydia (Williams) Lyman (1763-1826)

Mrs Lydia Pickering (Williams) Lyman

She came from a wealthy family in Salem, Massachusetts. She was a niece of Timothy Pickering, U.S. Secretary of State under both Washington and Adams. In 1824 her mother's portrait was painted by the celebrated portraitist, Gilbert Stuart. In 1788, she married Theodore Lyman and they were the parents of four children.
