Lewis Morris, Jr. (1698-1762)

2nd of Morrisania; Speaker of the New York General Assembly

He inherited vast estates in Westchester County and the Bronx, including the Morrisania Manor. As a substantial landowner, he managed extensive agricultural operations and was involved in iron manufacturing and other business ventures. He served in various governmental positions throughout his career, including as a Judge, a Member of the New York General Assembly, and later as a Member of the Governor's Council. He was married twice and had eight children (listed).
