Joshua Loring (1716-1781)

Commodore in the Royal Navy, formerly of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts

He built the Loring-Greenough House (see images) in 1760, and it still stands at 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain, Boston. As a Loyalist, he was banished from his native country and settled at Highgate near London where he and his wife died. His wife, Mary Curtis, was the sister of twins and they had two sets of twins (all boys).
