Joseph Savage (1798-1859)
of Savage & Lyman, Jewellers & Silversmith, Montreal, Quebec
He was the son of George Savage (1767-1845), Jeweller, who emigrated from England to Montreal in 1818. He was a brother of Alfred Savage, Wholesale Druggist and Oil Merchant, of Montreal. In 1851, Joseph went into partnership with his brother-in-law, Lt.-Col. Theodore Lyman. Savage & Lyman were prolific retailers of silverware and from 1868 they were known as Savage Lyman & Co.
