Joseph Fayrer (1743-1801)
Capt. Joseph Fayrer, of Harmony Hall, Milnthorpe, Westmoreland
He was the captain and owner of the slave ship 'Golden Age' between 1783 and 1792. From about 1790, he built Harmony Hall in Milnthorpe - just before his last ill-fated voyage to Africa - and it was completed by his son in 1819.
