Jonathan Amory (1726-1797)
Merchant of J. & J. Amory, Boston, Massachusetts
He was born at Boston and first entered into business with his brother, John, who ran the firm in Boston during the Revolution while Jonathan was living in London. They subsequently went into partnership with Joseph Taylor and Samuel Rogers. In 1781, at Boston, He married Abigail Taylor, his business partner's sister, and built a house (1784) on the corner of Temple and Washington Streets. They died without children and he left his entire estate to his brother, John.
