John Hennings Nix (1830-1899)

F.R.G.S., Banker, of Tilgate, Crawley & formerly The Hall, Worth, Sussex

He was a banker in Fuller, Banbury, Nix & Mathieson of 77 Lombard Street, London. After the death of his father-in-law, George Ashburner, he inherited Tilgate, Crawley. In 1898, he was listed as a director of the East London Water Works Co., Scottish Amicable Life Assurance Co. (London Board), and the Surrey Commercial Dock Co. He married the heiress Sarah Ashburner and had four children.
