Charles George Ashburner Nix (1873-1956)

of Tilgate, Crawley & "Free Chase" Warninglid, Sussex

He inherited the Tilgate estate from his elder brother in 1927, and sold it in 1939 when he moved with his family to "Free Chase" (see images) in Warninglid, West Sussex, where he died. His wife, Mildred Brown, was a great-granddaughter of Sir William Brown, whose father, Alexander Brown, founded Brown & Brothers, Bankers, of Baltimore, Maryland. They had three sons (listed).
