John Dolbeare (1669-1740)

Pewtersmith, of Boston, Massachusetts

In his time, he was one of the wealthiest men in New England, having made a fortune of some £57,000 through the manufacturing and selling of pewter, some of which was sold as far south as Charleston, South Carolina. He disinherited several of his children for either failing in business or marrying against his wishes.
