John Bond Trevor (1878-1956)

American Nationalist & Deputy Attorney General of the State of New York

He was a Member of the Eugenics Research Association, the American Eugenics Society, the Immigration Restriction League, the American Defense Society, and he was an advisor to the Christian Crusade of Billy James Hargis. He was described as having been, "one of the most influential unelected officials affiliated with the U.S. Congress" and, "the most influential lobbyist for restriction of immigration." In 1927, he founded a group that became the American Coalition of Patriotic, Civic & Fraternal Societies, with the slogan, "Keep America American". He served as President of the coalition until 1950, campaigning against any form of immigration. He was described by Louis Adamic as the chief promoter of Fascism in America, saying of him in 1936 that, "if a man's love for his country is measurable by his detestation of all who had the bad taste to be born elsewhere, there probably is no greater patriot in America to-day." He lived with his family between 11 East 91st Street, NYC, and "Glenview" Yonkers, (see images).
