John Alsop King (1788-1867)
U.S. Congressman & 20th Governor of New York
He married Mary, daughter of Cornelius and Elizabeth Elmendorf Ray. They were the parents of seven children (listed) who lived to adulthood. He succeeded Commodore John Cox Stevens to become the third President of the Union Club, N.Y.C., and was succeeded by Moses H. Grinnell.
