James Thomas Davis (1861-1928)

He was born at 565 Rideau Street, Ottawa, and after studying engineering became a partner in the construction firm founded by his father, William P. Davis & Sons. In 1891, he married Gertrude, daughter of Bernard Devlin Q.C., and they were the parents of three sons and three daughters. Their second son, Harry (Henry), married Katharine Hamilton Ewing who was regarded as "the best dressed woman in Canada" and became better known by her stage name, "Doria March".
