James Lynch (1716-1793)
Flax Seed Merchant, of Bruges, Flanders & Co. Galway, Ireland
He was the son of Henry Lynch and the husband of Anastasia, daughter of Jasper Joyce. He was a member of the Society of St. George (1782) in Bruges where there is a sepulchral monument on the outside of the south wall of the Church of Notre Dame commemorating his death on the 21st July, 1793, aged 77. He was likely related to Dominick Anthony Lynch (1685-1733), Alderman of the City of Bruges in 1707, 1711, 1713, and 1727, the son of Steven/Etienne Lynch (d.1691), British Consul at Bruges.
