James Desbrosses (b.c.1710)
James Desbrosses Sr., merchant, of New York
He was the principal heir of his brother, through whom he inherited circa 60,000 acres of the Hardenburgh Patent in New York, which soon afterwards passed to his only son. He also had a daughter (dates unknown), Mary Ann Desbrosses, who married Joseph Waddington at New York in 1781.
