Isaac Gouverneur (d.c.1794)
of "Mount Pleasant" near Newark, New Jersey
His name is attached to the estate "Mount Pleasant" that eventually passed to his first cousin's son, Gouverneur Kemble, when it became famous as Washington Irving's "Cockloft Hall". Reading between the lines, it might be that Isaac bequeathed the estate to Nicholas Gouverneur, his first cousin, who according to a contemporary source, Marian Gouverneur, bequeathed Mount Pleasant to Mr. Kemble.
