Gouverneur Kemble (1786-1875)

U.S. Congressman from New York & Founder of the West Point Foundry

His country home at Cold Spring was called "Marshmoor". He eventually sold the West Point Foundry (co-owned with his brother, William) to his brother-in-law, Robert P. Parrott, inventor of the Parrott Gun. He was one of the 100-invitees (of which only 42 are known) invited to found the Century Association in New York in 1847. He died unmarried.
