Huntley Redpath Drummond (1864-1957)
President of the Canada Sugar Refinery Co., Montreal
He was born in Montreal and was educated in England at Rugby School (1878-1882) while his parents were resident at 11 Avenue de Martigny off the Champs-Élysées in Paris. He returned to Montreal where he succeeded his father as the President of the Canada Sugar Refinery Co., Ltd. He was a director of the Bank of Montreal; Vice-President of the Royal Trust Company; President of the Repatriation Association; and, Governor, McGill University. In 1899, he married Mary, daughter of James Reynolds, of West Haven, Connecticut. He lived at 24 McTavish Street before moving to 208 Drummond Street, Montreal, and his country home, Huntlywood, at Beaconsfield. Both of his children (sons) died in infancy.
