Henry Mortimer Brooks (1847-1937)
H. Mortimer Brooks, of New York
He was a son of John Brooks, co-founder of Brooks Brothers & Co., Clothiers, of New York. He married Josephine, daughter and heiress of Elias S. Higgins, and he became a partner in E.S. Higgins & Co. In 1892, he was listed in The New York Tribune as one of the city's millionaires. He and his wife had 3-children.
