Henry Gould Shannon (1772-1865)
Capt. Henry Gould Shannon, of Louisville, Kentucky
He was born a Catholic at Corbally near Limerick in Ireland. He was a brother of Alderman Pierce Shannon, Lord Mayor of Limerick, who purchased Corbally Park for £22,000 in 1833. Henry emigrated to Louisville in 1810 and served in the War of 1812 and the Mexican War.
