Hannah (Goelet) Gerry (1804-1895)

Mrs Hannah Green (Goelet) Gerry

She lived in, "the big square house with a yard around it at the corner of Broadway and Nineteenth... there is a tall iron fence around the lot and within very recent years (the article was written in 1895) a cow has been seen grazing inside, unruffled by the roar of passing commerce". It was purchased by her brother, Peter, in 1848 and soon afterwards Mr and Mrs Gerry moved into it from 48 Broadway.
