Hannah (Bingham) Blackwell (1754-1815)

She was born in Philadelphia and by the time of her marriage was worth some £4,000. She grew up at 224 Pine Street and in 1775 she married John Benezet by whom she was the mother of just one child, Maria Benezet, the first wife of her aunt's, Mrs William Bingham's brother, George Willing. Her first husband was lost at sea and after Maria died without children Hannah willed all her property to her second husband, Rev. Robert Blackwell, who lived at No. 224 Pine Street until his death.
