East India Merchant & Co-Founder of the Merchants' Exchange National Bank, NYC

He was a merchant in New York engaged in the East India and China trade. He was a ship owner and one of the founders of The Merchants’ Exchange National Bank. He was a Vestryman of Grace Church and supported moving the church to its present site on Broadway. He married Sabina Sheaff and had 6-children (listed).
