Gertrude Bailey (Tredick) Raitt (1872-1944)

Mrs. Gertrude Bailey (Tredick) Griffiths, Raitt

She married Percy Griffiths, English heir to the Deloitte accounting fortune (and one of the best known collectors of English antique furniture). They lived between Bryanston Square, London, and their country home "Sandridgebury" near St. Albans, Hertfordshire. When her first cousin's husband died leaving her in financial straits, Gertrude invited her (Marian Wendell) and her four children to live with her. She had no children of her own and became very close to her cousin's children.
