George Forsyth (1786-1860)

Merchant, of Ellice & Kinnear, 145 Leadenhall Street & Torrington Square, London

He was married at Aberdeen in 1830 to his first cousin, Eleanor Forsyth, daughter of George Forsyth, of St. Petersburg. At the time of their wedding, they already had a two month old daughter, Catherine, who was their only child to survive infancy. He was compensated several thousands for his slave-related interests in St. Lucia, Grenada, Honduras, Trinidad, but died leaving a personal estate valued at just £97.
