Francis Edward Powell (1868-1938)

President of the American Chamber of Commerce in London, etc.

He was born in Cincinnati and came to Europe representing Standard Oil in Germany and then England. He became Chairman of the Anglo-American Oil Company, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in London, Chairman of the International Sugar Council at The Hague, and Chairman of Radio & Electrical Developments Ltd. He lived between his apartment at 40 Park Lane in London and "Rockwood" (pictured) on St. George's Hill, Weybridge, Surrey. He also kept a home at Covington in Kentucky. He and his wife had three sons and a daughter.
