Emily (Sloane) Hammond (1874-1970)

Mrs Emily Vanderbilt (Sloane) Hammond, of 136 East 64th Street, New York

She was born in New York City, a granddaughter of and co-heiress to both the Sloane and Vanderbilt fortunes. Her miniature seen here was painted by Carl A. Weidner for her 21st birthday in 1905. She was President of the Home Thrift Association. She lived between 9 East 91st Street (now the Russian Consulate) in New York City and "Dellwood," her estate at Mount Kisco. She and her husband had 5-children.
