Elisha Dyer (1772-1854)

Commission Merchant & Textiles Manufacturer, of Providence, Rhode Island

He was born at Gloucester, Massachusetts. He briefly went into partnership with Charles Potter in the importing business before establishing Elisha Dyer & Company, Commission Merchants, of Providence, R.I. He owned two mills in Providence and became very successful with an extensive real estate empire.
