Edward Somerville Jaffray (1816-1892)

of 615 Fifth Avenue; of E.S. Jaffray & Co., Dry Goods Merchants, London & New York

He was born in London and came to New York to take charge of the American side of his father's dry goods business. He lived at 615 Fifth Avenue and kept a summer home, "Quarry Hill" (see images) at Irvington, New York. He died with a personal estate valued at $3-million.
