Edward Howland Robinson Green (1868-1936)

Colonel "Ned" E.H.R. Green, of Round Hill, Massachusetts

He was born at the Langham Hotel in London. He inherited a fortune of $100-million from his mother "The Witch of Wall Street". In 1918, he came in at eighth (tied with Henry Ford and William Kissam Vanderbilt) on the first ever Forbes Rich List. He waited until his mother's death to marry his longtime companion, Mabel Harlow, a former prostitute. He died without children and his (by then) $44-million was fought over between his widow (who eventually settled for $500,000) and his sister.
