Edward Fitz Randolph (1607-1675)
Yeoman, of Barnstaple, Massachusetts, and then Piscataway, New Jersey
He was born in England at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. In 1630, as part of the Winthrop Fleet, he emigrated to America with his widowed mother arriving at Scituate, Massachusetts. He was a Yeoman and acquired property in 1634 before moving his family to Barnstaple in 1641 where he was a member of the Jury and was listed as one of those who was entitled to bear arms. In 1669, he sold his property in Massachusetts and seeking a less puritanical environment settled his family at Piscataway, New Jersey, where he owned roughly 300-acres. He was married twice.
