Edward Barry Ryan (1920-1993)

E. Barry Ryan, of New York City & Lexington, Kentucky

He was a grandson of Thomas Fortune Ryan. He lived in between New York City and Normandy Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, where he was a well-known breeder of Thoroughbreds including Quick Pitch, one of the country's leading steeplechase horses. He trained his own Thoroughbreds and was a co-founder of "Classic" a magazine about horses and raising horses. He was survived by his two daughters (Margot and Sandria) and seven grandchildren.
