Duncan Campbell (1880-1954)

Lt.-Col. Duncan Campbell, J.P., 8th of Inverneill; Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders

He was born at Inverneill House, Argyll. He was educated at Rugby and Pembroke College, Oxford. In 1905, he married Ethel, daughter and co-heiress of John I. Waterbury, of Fairfield in New Jersey, and they were the parents of four sons. His father-in-law gave him various business contacts and for a period he worked in Paris for I.B.M. They lived between another of the Campbell family estates in Scotland, Taynish House, also in Argyll, and 24 Onslow Gardens in Kensington, London.
