David Wilson (1746-1810)
Lighterman at Hull Harbour, Yorkshire
He was born at Warter near Pocklington in Yorkshire. Seeking employment, he left for Hull where he became a lighterman, operating a "lighter" - a low-bottomed boat used to transport cargo from the ships in the harbour to the shore.
