David Johnson Gardiner (1804-1829)
8th Proprietor of Gardiner's Island, New York; died unmarried
He graduated from Yale and succeeded to Gardiner's Island on his 21st birthday in 1825. His father had died in 1816 after which his cousin David Gardiner (father of U.S. First Lady Julia Tyler) leased the island. He died just four years after coming into his inheritance when ownership of the island passed to his brother, John.
