Daniel Parish (1796-1880)
Merchant, of H. & D. Parish, of New York City
He was the other chief partner in the family dry goods business that stretched from New York to Charleston and New Orleans. When his brother Henry retired, Daniel was worth some $500,000 but this more than doubled when his brother died (childless) and left him as his chief beneficiary. He was married at Newburgh in 1821 and had, "an expensive family of nine children".
