Christopher Robinson II (1681-1726)

Col. Christopher Robinson II of "The Grange", Sheriff of Middlesex Co., Virginia

He was the nephew and heir of John Robinson, Lord Privy Seal and Lord Bishop of London etc., through whom he inherited the 9000-acre Manor of Hewick in Yorkshire. He was born and raised in Virginia, and was educated at William & Mary College. He lived at "The Grange" and was a Member of the Council from Virginia, a Member of the Virginia House of Burgesses, Sheriff of Middlesex County, and a Naval Officer on the Rappahannock River. He married Judith, daughter of Col. Christopher Wormeley and of their several children three sons (listed) lived to adulthood and married. Their youngest son is grandfather of Sir John Beverley Robinson, 1st Baronet of Toronto.
