Christiana (Penn) Penn-Gaskell (1733-1803)

Mrs Christiana Gulielma (Penn) Penn-Gaskell

After the death of her half-brother, she represented the senior line of the family of the Founder William Penn. She inherited a half-interest in Shanagarry Castle, acquired by her ancestor Sir William Penn in 1660. She inherited valuable town lots in Philadelphia as well as the Manor of Mount Joy and Fagg's Manor (10,000 acres) in Pennsylvania from her great aunt, Letitia Aubery. By virtue of being the heiress of the senior line, she inherited many other valuable entails, principally in Philadelphia.
