Caleb Newbold (1731-1786)

Merchant, of Newbold Island, Burlington Co., New Jersey

He was described as, "a very rich Calcutta merchant". He was a great-grandson of Michael Newbold (1623-1692) who emigrated from Yorkshire and purchased Biddle's Island in the Delaware River, ever since named Newbold Island.
