B. Peter Cruger (1774-1854)

(Bertram) Peter Cruger, Dutch West Indies Merchant, of London & Powys

He was born on his family's plantation at Santa Cruz in the West Indies and was brought up between there and Rose Hill, his family's estate north of New York City. His first wife was Catherine, daughter of the rogue-ish John Barker Church, M.P. His second wife was a daughter of Robert Watts, Co-Founder of the New York Chamber of Commerce.
