Benjamin Donald (1797-1871)
Merchant, Planter & Magistrate of "Otterburn" Bedford Co., Virginia
He built "Otterburn" in 1828 on a 2,800-acre plantation situated along Little Otter Creek in Bedford County. Following a fire in 1841, he and his wife rebuilt the house within the shell of the original structure, making it "one of the region’s most distinctive Greek Revival dwellings."
