Benedict Swingate Calvert (1722-1788)

of Mount Airy, Prince George's Co., Maryland

He was a co-founded the Mississippi Land Company with Henry Rozier, William and Robert Brent, the Lees and FitzHughs of Virginia, and the Carrolls of Maryland. The purpose was to develop territory in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois.
