Anson McCook Beard Sr. (1874-1929)
Attorney, of 47 East 68th Street & Tuxedo Park, New York
He graduated from Yale where he was a leading athlete, playing on the varsity eleven and rowing for the Varsity crew. He was an attorney before he married Ruth, daughter and co-heiress of the railroad magnate James J. Hill. They lived between 47 East 68th Street, Tuxedo Park, and summered at Southampton on Long Island. They had two children.
