Anne (Harriman) Vanderbilt (1861-1940)

Mrs Annie (Harriman) Sands, Rutherfurd, Vanderbilt

She was a first cousin of the Railroad Tycoon, E.H. Harriman. She was widowed twice before marrying Willie Vanderbilt, her only husband by whom she did not have any children. They retired to France and she was the first woman to receive a gold medal from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs for her service to France.
