William Russell Grace (1832-1904)
Founder of W.R. Grace & Co., and the 1st Roman Catholic Mayor of New York City
He was the elder brother of Michael Grace, father of "The Four Graces". He and his wife lived between 31 East 79th Street in New York and "Gracefield" (see images) on Long Island. His estate was valued at $25-million when he died in 1904. He had 11-children of whom only six (listed) lived beyond the age of two.
