William Rucker Stikeman (1854-1927)

C.I.E., of 61 Onslow Gardens, London; died unmarried

He was educated at Uppingham School and went to Burma as a merchant where he became Chairman of the Burma Chamber of Commerce (1910-1912); Vice-Chairman of the Rangoon Port Trust from 1904; and, an additional Member of the Lieutenant-Governor's Council (1907-12) for making Laws and Regulations. In 1911, he received "a well-deserved acknowledgment of his services by the bestowal of the C.I.E." He was a member of the Bengal Club in Calcutta and the Oriental Club in London.
