William Minturn (1776-1819)

Shipping Merchant of Minturn, Champlin & Co., of New York

He was - before the War of 1812 - a wealthy shipping merchant living on Pearl Street in New York City and one of the founders of the Mutual Fire Insurance Company of New York. But, his fortune was decimated by the war and he died shortly afterwards. He married Sarah, daughter of Robert Bowne and had 3-children.
